FIRST POST ON THE BLOG, so exciting.
I hope everyone had a wonderful fall weekend and was able to enjoy some college football. There were some great games and wins this weekend. Alabama played a great game against Texas A & M with Alabama winning 33 to 14. Due to their win, Alabama remains the #1 college football team in the country. Some other great Alabama football news is that sophomore defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick was named one of the 16 semifinalists for the Jim Thorpe Award. This prestigious award is presented to the country’s top defensive back. This is very exciting news for both Alabama and Alabama fans. Luckily, they have a bye week and can enjoy their success, before taking on LSU on November 8th.
However, while we wait for a new weekend of college football to begin, we can still represent our favorite teams by wearing their apparel and accessories. I often receive questions on my own blog regarding how to incorporate collegiate wear into our everyday wardrobe. For instance, let’s say you are invited to a friend’s house to watch the Saturday game but afterwards you are having dinner with your family or going on a date. The only problem is that you do not have time to go home and change. My advice is to represent your team on top, rather than the bottom. In other words, wear a shirt with your team logo, as opposed to bottoms, that way you can layer. The look I am showing you today fits perfectly with this scenario.
First, I make sure that I have a structured bottom, so I opted for skinny jeans in a light wash color. I paired my skinny jeans with one of our Alabama tees, which is so incredibly soft and comfortable. Next, I layered the tee with a red checkered oversized flannel. Why? The first reason is because it was in Alabama colors and the second is that I can button the flannel and wear it to dinner.
Tuck the front portion of the tee into the jeans to provide a clean silhouette.Sometimes tee’s can appear baggy. This way you can continue to keep everything structured and clean.
Once the game is over and you are about ready to head out, all you do is button the flannel, leaving the bottom 3 undone. Keeping the tee tucked in, you take the bottom two corners of the flannel and tie them together right above the zipper of your jeans. By tying the flannel together, you have created a relaxed, yet dressy, enough top for dinner. Add a pair of ankle booties, a fun trench coat, and fall lip and you can transform your sporty football attire into chic dinner attire.
Have a wonderful Monday everyone.
